If you engage the services of volunteers it’s very important to manage that process. Managing it effectively means that both parties get the greatest benefit from the volunteering arrangement. There is also a far greater likelihood the organisation will use volunteers again - and that the volunteer will volunteer again!

At Volunteer Development Scotland we support organisations with advice on how to manage volunteers. Below are some links to the services we offer. If you would like to discuss your learning requirements, gain a national recognised qualification or find out how we might design a volunteer management strategy tailor made to suit your needs please e-mail: vds@vds.org.uk

The links above will let you access information to help you build and develop skills and qualifications in the management of volunteers and volunteering. It can also help you to measure the impact of your volunteers and to assess your practices against Investing In Volunteers - the UK's quality standard for the management of volunteers.
