Voluntary Service Managers

Role of Voluntary Services Managers

There are around 40 Voluntary Services Managers working in the NHS in Scotland currently. Employed by geographical NHS Boards they

  • recruit and support volunteers engaged directly by the NHS,
  • help to develop new opportunities for volunteering, and
  • contribute towards the development of policies on volunteering

Some geographical NHS Boards do not currently employ a Voluntary Services Manager.

Volunteer Development Scotland facilitates regular meetings for Voluntary Services Managers at which they share information, views and learning.
