Work With Us

We are seeking to appoint a new Chair to lead the Board of Directors due to the end of the appointed term for our current Chair, Bill Howat.

The Chair will ensure effective governance and leadership of Volunteer Development Scotland as the organisation transforms itself to provide national resources for engaging people in volunteering. You’ll have a significant record of achievement at a senior level and your commitment to the values of volunteering will be clear.

As Chair of the Board of Directors you’ll ensure strategic direction, appropriate accountability and performance, and the provision of support to the organisation. As an ambassador for Volunteer Development Scotland, working with the Chief Executive, you’ll represent the organisation at key events and meetings.

The appointment is for a three-year term with a time commitment of around 10-12 days per year for board meetings, planning and strategy events. The position is unremunerated, however expenses are paid.
